Bells expert Andrew Reynolds to be guest speaker at Bathurst District Historical Society monthly muster | Western Advocate

THE Bathurst District Historical Society will hold its monthly muster as part of the first Festival of Bells in Bathurst this week. Andrew Reynolds from John Taylor & Co foundry is flying in from Perth to be guest speaker at the muster and will talk about the history of bells and the Bathurst War Memorial Carillon. John Taylor & Co is the world’s largest bell foundry and was responsible for the original manufacture of the carillon bells in 1928, their installation in 1933 and upgrade in 2020. Continuing a long line of bell founding in England since the 14th century, members of the Taylor family began operating in 1794 and moved the foundry to its present site in Loughborough, England in 1859.
