‘Elation’, ‘disappointment’ at decision to protect Mount Panorama site on Aboriginal heritage grounds

Publicity officer for the Wiradyuri Traditional Owners, Yanhadarrambhal Jade Flynn, said they were initially in “shock” at the decision to prevent a go kart track being built at Mount Panorama.

However, the Bathurst mayor, Bobby Bourke, said he was “disappointed”, and that the federal Environment Minister, Sussan Ley, was incorrect.

“From my point of view, she’s got it wrong,” Cr Bourke said.
