Orange violent storm knocks out power to about 2000 homes, businesses | Central Western Daily

About 2000 properties across Orange lost power during a violent storm on Wednesday afternoon. Essential Energy initially reported 1724 homes and businesses stretching from the eastern side of the city to Lewis Pondswere without power from 4.19pm. A spokesman said crews were investigating the cause and it was unclear when power would be restored. “We’ve got people on the ground. We’re currently inspecting the lines,” he said. A further 30 properties just west of Orange on The Escort Way also lost power just six minutes earlier. Further outages were reported near Borenore (five customers) and Molong (55 customers) around the same time. The spokesman said the total for the region at about 5pm was about 2000 properties. A…
