THE first frost is on the horizon for Bathurst – and it will be a little earlier than last year. Long-time Rural Notebook columnist John Seaman reported the first frost of 2020 “on low areas close to Bathurst” during the third week of April. The Bureau of Meteorology says this Monday is the day for 2021, when the district is set to get down to zero as part of a cold front sweeping through. IN NEWS AROUND BATHURST: Bathurst has been blessed, to this point of the month, with a warm April in which the average maximum has been 26 degrees – well above the long-term average for the month of 20 degrees. The average minimum this month has been 7.6 degrees – which is not far off the long-term average for the month of 6.7…
